This project for Move Free used some branded images and animations and copy to get consumers to think more about their daily (and nightly) habits in the context of joint health and weight control. The campaign mixed in more images of non-elderly people, which along with the target medium of Instagram, represented a younger target audience for the brand. I used brand assets and my own sourced imagery and footage to produce the static posts and animate the stories. These social pieces had a positive impact in engagement in that slightly younger target audience, which then trickled down into a corresponding slight uptick in sales.
I used Photoshop and Illustrator for the Instagram Feed images and prepping the assets in the Instagram Story animations, where I used After Effects to actually do the animating.
Client briefs can take multiple forms, and in this case mine came in the form of a Powerpoint file. There were guidelines for both the static Instagram Feed images and the animated Instagram Stories. You can also see some copy suggestions, along with some visual layout preferences.
I used artboards in Photohsop to produce the various static images. It's much simpler to keep multiple variations of a layout in one document and be able to see them all spread out at once. I was able to visualize some crude storyboard-esque plans for how the posts would look as they were swiped, also.
For the animations, I used a previously-created asset for the background. Then I used keying, masking, and particle generation to animate the content sections with transparent backgrounds. This way, I only needed to use multiple instances of the same image asset to match with the different creative sections.
